Not terribly impressed

by   ebway ,  Apr 23, 2008
Pros: Call quality seems pretty good.
Cons: Poor interface layout Returning out of state calls difficult
Review: We have used this phone system for about 2 years in our home office. One annoying trait is the phone redial feature, after receiving a call from a different area code you cannot simple hit redial to return the call. The phone will not add the 1 in front ...

Poor outdoor range.

by   valereee ,  Oct 24, 2006
Pros: Corded base set, no-jack hand set. Works in a wireless-network setting.
Cons: Zero range outside the house.
The Bottom Line: Just doesn't have the range our family needs.
Review: I've been using the Uniden TRU8888 for about six months now and though it was pricey and works fine as long as I'm inside my house, I'm ready to try something else. I literally cannot step one foot outside any of my doors without affecting the quality ...

Tried The Rest - Found the Best - Uniden Tru8888!

by   hopeh1122 ,  Jun 28, 2006
Pros: Quality workmanship (sturdy), lots of great features, looks great, awesome sound and range
Cons: A bit of a learning curve in setting up certain features, can't "sync" phones, pricey
The Bottom Line: A pricey, but great quality phone with amazing features and super sound and range.
Review: I recently purchased a GE-25880GE3 5.8GHz Corded/Cordless w/ Answering System Phone from Circuit City. Within a month, I returned it because it was a cheap phone with poor sound quality and terrible design. (See my other review for details.) I only ...

Battery Life

by   adkinson ,  Jul 5, 2005
Pros: Ringer tones, Speakers in the hand sets, Call notes
Cons: Battery life
Review: I have had a number of Uniden cordless phones but this set has the poorest battery life of any of my previous phones. I am very disappointed in this one feature. The other features of the phone perform as explained and the speaker in the hand set is ...

Home office phone, best I have seen out there for what it is

by   cpnd ,  Mar 20, 2005
Pros: Clarity, bells and whistles, expandability, look and size.
Cons: base keys don't light up. To use phone company voicemail service, doesn't show messages waiting.
Review: I have been looking for a combo phone to replace my current 2.4 Sony that stopped working. After much searching I found this combo phone. The size is right, the price is right for what I will use it for, and I like that you can have up to 10 cordless ...

Surprisingly good. Solved all of my problems...almost.

by   lighterg ,  Mar 5, 2005
Pros: Great: design, looks, display, functions, answering system, sound, speaker and handset.
Cons: Appears to be incompatible with Plantronics amplified headset (M12). And is $170 expensive?
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a corded base phone w/digital answering system and 5.8 GHz expandable cordless handset system, and $170 seems reasonable, then I'd recommend the Uniden TRU8888.
Review: I was having issues with my Panasonic 2.4 GHz interfering with my wireless network (not uncommon), so I decided it was time to upgrade. I needed a 5.8 GHz phone with a corded base (one reason is for a Plantronics headset), answering system, and cordless ...

Like the phone but answering machine just wouldn't work

by   cv73 ,  Jan 27, 2005
Pros: Great features and voice clarity
Cons: See above. Just couldn't get the answering machine to work.
Review: This will be short and sweet. I agree with the review by bmills. However although all the features were great I could never get the answering machine to accept calls. It would announce one word "hello" and then just shut off without taking an incoming ...

Wonderful home office phone

by   bmills313 ,  Nov 4, 2004
Pros: Great usability and features...expandable base unit, speakerphone
Cons: A little pricey
The Bottom Line: A fantastic phone that would work very well in a home office or small business. Highly recommended!
Review: I bought this phone about 3 months ago for my new home office and I have no regrets. I wanted a base unit with a cordless so I could wander around the house if necessary. Another of my must-have items was speakerphone, so this phone met all the ...
