Handy Small back pack Baby Carrier

by   cxshih ,  Apr 23, 2007
Pros: Small size, comfortable for baby and wearer
Cons: no stirrups, one color, small sun shade
The Bottom Line: Great hidden small child carrier built into a back pack. Very comfortable to wear even for long day hikes. Only drawbacks are no stirrups and low weight limit.
Review: We bought the Deuter Kangakid Baby carrier (2007) for its small size and design. The carrier, when zipped up without baby in it, looks like a regular medium sized back pack. With one quick zip, the pack opens up to reveal a child carrier with harness. ...

Absolutely love it, despite drawbacks

by   hikingmama ,  Dec 19, 2006
Pros: Versatile, comfortable (within limits), storage, number of compartments, great looking, makes the baby HAPPY!
Cons: Can't reach compartments when pack is on, not ideal for long or strenuous hikes
The Bottom Line: Brilliant pack fills a great niche. For the right family, it can be an invaluable piece of equipment. Versatile, no-hassle, awesome design.

by   mamalion ,  Mar 2, 2006
Pros: Great construction, comfortable, lightweight, compact, good storage, good for shorter torso/smaller body frames.
Cons: Design is difficult to get pack stabilized and on with baby inside. No sunshade available.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommend this pack for many reasons ** but caution that no stand = difficult to get on and off with the weight your baby inside. Takes strength & practice.
Review: I just tried out this backpack / kid carrier by Deuter (a trusted manufacturer of hiking gear) and while I like it a lot when it is on and I am hiking, I have mixed feelings about it. Positives: Good construction, lightweight, very good storage ...
